Texas Catholic Correctional Ministers (TCCM) was established in March of 1998 as a collaborating community among the criminal justice (correctional) ministries of the dioceses of Texas to better serve the incarcerated and their families, and to help those returning from prison successfully transition back into society.
Today, the TCCM provides oversight and direction for the many men and women who are involved in Catholic correctional ministry at the state, diocesan, and local parish levels.
“To be the face of Christ to those in prison”
To bring a message of faith, hope, justice, peace, and reconciliation to the incarcerated, newly released, offender families, and to the public servants employed in the criminal justice system. It is hoped that this ministry of love, compassion and encouragement will lead to a spiritual transformation and growth in faith in the lives of those served. The pastoral care offered in our ministry is rooted in Catholic social teaching and provides resources for day-to-day living inside the walls, at home or in the community.
